What is GoLexia?

GoLexia is a service offering Diagnostic Assessment for Dyslexia, Workplace Needs Assessment, Coaching and Training. We are based in South Wales but also cover West Wales and the Midlands.

What are Specific Learning Difficulties?

SpLD refers to a range of difficulties that includes dyslexia, dyscalculia, DCD (Developmental Co-ordination Disorder, also known as dyspraxia), Asperger’s Syndrome, ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) and other similar differences. These are called ‘specific’ because they are not related to cognitive ability.

Eileen Taylor

Owner and Director

Eileen is the Owner and Director of GoLexia Ltd. Eileen has over 40 years’ experience of teaching at every age level, from Key Stage 1 to Master's. Level. She holds specialist qualifications in SpLD, including AMBDA and PATOSS Assessment certification and an MA in Special Educational Needs. Always ready to give advice, deliver training, conduct diagnostic assessments and devise specialist one-to-one support packages, you can contact Eileen direct or call the office.

Alex Brewer

Assessor

Alex is a specialist assessor who, having started as office manager, qualified with a P.G. Dip. in Specific Learning Difficulties and holds AMBDA and PATOSS APC accreditation. He has many years' experience of working with children, young people and adults with a range of Specific Learning Difficulties, carrying out diagnostic assessments and assisting with training.

Eira Brewer

Assessor

Eira is a qualified teacher with several years' experience of working with children and young people, both as a teacher and as a dyslexia tutor. She has a PGDip in Specific Learning Difficulties and holds PATOSS APC accrediation. Eira has several years' experience as a dyslexia assessor.

Guy Brewer

Coaching and Mentoring Advisor

Guy delivers workplace coaching for adults diagnosed with Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, ADHD and other Specific Learning Difficulties. Having originally trained as a teacher, he also gained additional post-graduate qualifications in Special Educational Needs and Education Leadership & Management. Guy has worked in education for over 25 years, as a teacher, adviser and manager, working with learners of all ages. He has broad experience as a coach, both within the education setting and independently.
